I agree that most people want to live in peace but in all democratic countries people who feel that the law is not listening to them have the right to public demonstration. Sometimes it is the only way that they can bring their grievances out in the open. The law does not always do the right thing by people especially if they are a minority group. You will always have your point of view but sometimes like all of us we have to stand back and look at why people resort to the action that they choose to take. Agreed, there are always at least two sides to a story and I am interested to know why you think that people should not have the right to voice their protest and why you think that the use of guns may be justifiable. They may not represent all of the civilian population on the island but they are people who seem to be standing up for something that they think is right and I for one do not think that shooting at them is the right thing to do. If the law of your country is as good as you think it is then why can it not resolve this situation peacefully?

I believe that the biggest mistakes we make in this country is not to make them pay for what they do. I also abhor their acts of pardonning themselves. Dont give me that lets look ahead crap. They are guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity. I am not for letting that go. We always let them go and they all do it again because they dont fear any reprisals or serious consequences.

I believe you are correct especially if the government prints this money. That just devalues the currency all that much more (inflation goes up while the value of the dollar goes down). If they borrow the money, it will simply push the government closer and closer to default. Its taking all we can do now just to pay the interest on the monumental debt we already have, and unless the government drastically cuts spending (especially, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and national defense), it will go into default within the next few years, regardless of all the tax increases they are planning. So, the bottom line is the government is planning to take most of our money in taxes of one kind or another, and will probably still have to make major cuts in these programs anyway. Thats pretty much already baked in. Can you imagine what that will do to the economy? Permanent recession/depression/stagflation here we come!

Savings & Loan institutions were often financing 30 year fixed-rate mortgages with short term deposits. Then Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac started buying up millions of dollars in mortgages.

I took economic classes and did stock away some money, unfortunately I got laid off in 2002 and went through that and then some trying to keep up and am just now getting back to even and trying to rebuild what savings I had. We all go through rough patches, but I believe in Capitalism, though I also am not foolish enough to believe that government can sit idly by and not regulate it at all. Hopefully the worst of the recession is over and the growth trends are back on the way.
