This doesn't prove that music makes you smart.. This just tells you what type of music people like on the levels of their "smartness". ie, "smarter" people or people with higher SATs scores have Beethoven as their favorite artist. Not the other way around.

I would say the person's intelligence has an effect on the music they choose to listen to, rather than saying that the music affects the person's intelligence.
